Apps That Work With WHOOP (2026): Every Integration and What Syncs

Apps that work with WHOOP, checked Nov 2026: 12 partners, Apple Health, Health Connect, Strava and the API. What each gets, and where HRV and Recovery stop.

“Works with WHOOP” can mean six different things. An app can read what WHOOP writes to Apple Health or Android’s Health Connect, it can be one of WHOOP’s direct partners, it can pick up your workouts through Strava, it can connect through the WHOOP API, or it can simply listen to your live heart rate over Bluetooth. Each route carries different data, and the route decides whether an app ever sees your HRV or your Recovery score.

The short answer: 12 partner apps plus Apple Health and Health Connect; Recovery reaches Strava, Zwift and Cronometer, and Strain reaches Strava and Zwift, but neither score is on WHOOP’s Apple Health or Health Connect export list.123456789

Every integration, data type and price below was checked on 2 November 2026 against WHOOP’s support articles, developer docs, partner pages and PubMed. SensAI makes a competing training app that reads WHOOP data through Apple Health, so we say where other apps get more from your WHOOP than SensAI does.

What apps work with WHOOP? The short answer

WHOOP connects to other apps six ways: Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android, 12 direct partner links, Strava as a hub, the WHOOP API v2 and live Heart Rate Broadcast. Apple Health gets sleep, heart rate and workouts but not HRV or Recovery. Partners such as Zwift, Strava and Cronometer do get your Recovery score.895671011

The pattern matters more than the list. Your Recovery and Strain scores leave WHOOP through partners and Strava; neither score is on WHOOP’s Apple Health or Health Connect export list. An app that only reads those hubs can rebuild a picture from sleep and heart rate, but it cannot show your WHOOP Recovery. If you want to know what goes into that score in the first place, we break it down in how Garmin Body Battery, WHOOP Recovery and Oura Readiness are calculated.

What are the best apps to use with WHOOP?

It depends on the job. To train with WHOOP recovery data, Zwift, intervals.icu or TrainingPeaks. For nutrition, Cronometer. For fertility, Natural Cycles (WHOOP 5.0 or MG) or Clue. For body composition, Withings. For sharing workouts, Strava. For mobility, pliability; for swimming, FORM. On iPhone, SensAI adapts sessions to sleep and heart rate, without WHOOP’s HRV or Recovery.6192015162114522212

WHOOP’s official integrations: the full 2026 list

WHOOP’s official integrations, as of November 2026, are 12 partner apps: Peloton, Zwift, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Cronometer, Withings, Natural Cycles, Clue Plus, HealthEx, Hyperice, pliability and FORM. Add Apple Health, Android Health Connect and the WHOOP Developer Platform. Ten partners have a WHOOP support article, including Zwift (October 20, 2026); pliability and FORM are announced on whoop.com.1237134

WHOOP support articles, the whoop.com integrations page, the WHOOP Locker and partner help pages, checked 2 November 2026. The support topic has a “Load more” button, so WHOOP’s first page is not the full list.1

Heart Rate Broadcast sits apart from all of these. It is not a data sync: “All WHOOP sensors can broadcast your real-time heart rate to compatible fitness devices and apps via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE),” with no history, and only one broadcast-enabled device at a time.11

Cycling is where the 2026 additions land. WHOOP says “48% of Cycling/Spin sessions” on WHOOP are already “imported from a connected app or device.”29 Announcing the Peloton and Zwift links on October 28, 2026, Ed Baker, Chief Product Officer at WHOOP, said: “These integrations make it easier for members to connect their WHOOP insights with the ways they already train, so they can make more informed decisions about their health and performance every day.”29

Zwift’s own help page states the practical point plainly: “Whoop shares your recovery score with Zwift. Zwift uses your recovery score to adapt your personalized recommendations.”30

What does WHOOP send to Apple Health, and what stays behind?

WHOOP sends workouts, active energy, heart rate, sleep, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen and, if enabled, steps to Apple Health. It does not send HRV, its Recovery or Strain scores, meditation and stretching sessions, or WHOOP MG’s ECG and Blood Pressure Insights. It imports workouts, routes, mindful minutes, weight, nutrition and cycle data.8

WHOOP, “Apple Health Integration,” last published April 16, 2026: the “Exported” and “Imported” lists. ❌ = stated as not exported, or absent from WHOOP’s export list.8

That list matches SensAI’s Help Center, which says WHOOP writes “sleep, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, workouts, and workout calories,” that it “explicitly does not write HRV,” and that “Recovery and Strain scores stay in WHOOP.”12 WHOOP’s own wording for calories is “Active Energy,” and its list also includes heart rate samples and steps.8

One setting trips people up. “If both import and export are enabled for WHOOP, this can increase the likelihood of duplicate entries,” so WHOOP suggests turning off Workouts export if you see doubles.8 For the same table across Oura, WHOOP and Garmin, see what syncs from Oura, WHOOP and Garmin to Apple Health.

Why doesn’t WHOOP send HRV to Apple Health?

Because the two store different HRV measures. WHOOP says “Apple Health uses SDNN (Standard Deviation of Normal-to-Normal) for HRV, while WHOOP calculates RMSSD (root mean square of successive differences),” and “WHOOP does not export HRV data to Apple Health at this time.” So no app that only reads Apple Health sees your WHOOP HRV.8

Think of a 100-metre split and a mile time. Both describe speed, but you cannot turn one into the other. rMSSD and SDNN are both HRV, and they are not interchangeable either.

The practical result: to use WHOOP HRV in another app, that app needs a partner link or a direct account connection, such as Zwift, Cronometer or intervals.icu.61519 We compare the HRV-specific apps in the best HRV apps that work with Oura Ring and WHOOP.

Does WHOOP work with Android Health Connect?

Yes, both ways. WHOOP writes exercise, calories, steps, sleep, resting heart rate, respiratory rate and blood oxygen to Health Connect, and reads exercise, distance, calories, weight, height, body fat and lean body mass. HRV is not on its export list, and WHOOP lists resting heart rate and respiratory rate as WHOOP Peak-level Health Connect data.9

WHOOP’s article, last published October 6, 2025, describes the tiers this way: “WHOOP One: Sleep, Strain, Recovery, and body metrics sync with Health Connect,” and “WHOOP Peak: Adds Health Monitor data, including Resting Heart Rate and Respiratory Rate.”9 The same article’s overview lists resting heart rate among Recovery data, so the tier lines and the overview do not fully agree.9

Some data never goes to Health Connect on any tier: “WHOOP does not sync Heart Screener data, Blood Pressure Insights, WHOOP Age, Pace of Aging, and VO2 Max to Health Connect.”9 The article gives no reason for leaving out HRV.

If you reinstall the app, reconnect: “Android automatically removes permissions during app uninstallation.”9

Does WHOOP work with Strava?

Yes, both ways, and Strava gets more than Apple Health does. WHOOP sends activity type, elapsed time, calories, heart rate, Activity Strain, Recovery Score and GPS (when tracked) to Strava, and imports Strava activities automatically. Since May 2026, Garmin and Hevy activities that pass through Strava arrive in WHOOP with source attribution.53

WHOOP’s Strava article, last published May 27, 2026, says the link is “available for all WHOOP members (One, Peak, Life)” and works with WHOOP 4.0, 5.0 and MG.5 You pick how the post looks: “Heart Rate Graph, Strain View, or Training State View.”5

Three rules decide what posts. “WHOOP only posts classified activities to Strava.” GPS workouts upload automatically when “Track Route” is on. And to stop loops, “WHOOP does not export activities to Strava if the activity was imported from Strava via Apple Health or Google Health Connect.”5

The May 21, 2026 upgrade made Strava a real hub. Imports now carry “GPS, distance, pace/speed,” “power and cadence when the original device captured them,” and “exercises with sets, reps, and weights,” with labels such as “Garmin Via Strava.”3 When two records overlap, “WHOOP keeps the version with the richer data. No duplicates.”3

What never goes to Strava: “WHOOP Age, Pace of Aging, ECG, and Blood Pressure Insights.”5 For the device-by-device view from Strava’s side, see what syncs with Strava in 2026.

Does WHOOP work with TrainingPeaks?

Yes, one way: WHOOP sends sleep, HRV and resting heart rate to TrainingPeaks, never the reverse. The two companies disagree on the Recovery Score: WHOOP’s October 2025 article lists it, while TrainingPeaks’ May 2023 page says it does not import Recovery or Strain. Workouts don’t sync, old data doesn’t backfill, and charts need TrainingPeaks Premium.202425

WHOOP’s TrainingPeaks article lists hours slept, REM, deep and light sleep time, times woken, time awake, HRV, resting heart rate and Recovery Score, and answers the obvious question with “No, the integration is one-way only.”20

TrainingPeaks’ own help page says something narrower: “We do not currently import Whoop proprietary metrics like Strain, Recovery, or Sleep performance,” and “Whoop does not send workouts to TrainingPeaks.”24 It adds that “the WHOOP>Trainingpeaks sync is not historical.”24 Neither page says which technical route the link uses.

The dashboard charts and the Performance Management Chart overlay need TrainingPeaks Premium, $19.95 a month or $134.99 a year.25 If you see several sleep entries for one night, WHOOP explains that it “updates your sleep data whenever a new sleep session is recorded or recalculated.”20

Which third-party apps read WHOOP through the WHOOP API?

The WHOOP API v2, launched 1 July 2025, gives developers Recovery score, HRV (rMSSD), resting heart rate, SpO2, sleep, Strain and workouts through OAuth 2.0, with default limits of 100 requests a minute and 10,000 a day. Of the apps below, only Cronometer’s help mentions WHOOP’s API; the others don’t say which technical route they use.31183215

WHOOP doesn’t say which partners use its public API. Among the apps below, only Cronometer’s help page mentions it, explaining that it cannot pull general activity data “since their API for this data is not available at this time.”15 The others describe a direct link to your WHOOP account without saying how it works, and Lifestack’s blog says only that it reads WHOOP data. So read the table as what each app says it gets, not as a list of API apps.

Do you need a WHOOP membership to use other apps?

Yes. Every route depends on WHOOP collecting data, and “once your membership has ended, WHOOP will no longer collect, upload, or analyze your biometric data.” In the US, WHOOP One costs $199 a year, Peak $239 and Life $359. Most integrations work on all three; Natural Cycles needs a 5.0 or MG device and HealthEx is US-only.38391617

The cancellation rule is the one that matters for integrations. Once collection stops, partner apps and the API have nothing new to read, even if the connections stay switched on.3810

Does WHOOP work with MyFitnessPal, Garmin or Hydrow?

Not directly. MyFitnessPal, Garmin Connect, Hydrow, Oura and glucose monitors such as Dexcom Stelo or Abbott Lingo have no direct WHOOP integration that we found. Nutrition apps can feed WHOOP’s Journal through Apple Health, Garmin activities reach WHOOP via Strava, and Hydrow treats WHOOP 3.0 or 4.0 only as a heart-rate monitor.128340

If you also own an Oura Ring, our sibling guide covers the other side: apps that work with Oura Ring.

How accurate is the WHOOP data these apps receive?

Good for heart rate, sleep timing and overnight trends, weaker for sleep stages. An independent 2025 ECG study rated WHOOP 4.0 overnight HRV at a concordance of 0.94 (Oura Gen4: 0.99), and polysomnography studies put WHOOP’s sleep-versus-wake agreement at 86–89%. Most early validations came from WHOOP-funded or WHOOP-supported labs.41424344

All studies verified on PubMed, 2 November 2026. CCC = Lin’s concordance correlation coefficient; MAPE = mean absolute percentage error; κ = Cohen’s kappa.

The early work came mostly from Central Queensland University’s Appleton Institute. Dean J. Miller, first author of the 2020 sleep study, concluded that “in situations where polysomnography is impractical (e.g., field settings), WHOOP is a reasonable method for estimating sleep, particularly for 2-stage categorisation, if accurate bedtimes are manually entered.”42 His 2021 papers disclose that his research position became WHOOP-sponsored after the data for those studies were collected.4643

The independent 2025 studies broadly agree. Michael B. Dial and colleagues at The Ohio State University’s Human Performance Collaborative, declaring no competing interests, found that “Oura devices showed the highest agreement for RHR and HRV, and WHOOP showed acceptable agreement, whereas Garmin Fenix and Polar demonstrated lower concordance.”41 One detail matters for the apps above: their full text notes WHOOP’s HRV is “dynamically weighted” toward the last slow-wave sleep, while the study compared all-night averages.41

Sleep stages are the weak spot across brands. An-Marie Schyvens of the University of Antwerp, who led the 2025 polysomnography comparison, wrote that “all devices can benefit from further improvement for multistate categorization.”47

Two gaps remain. Respiratory rate was validated in a WHOOP-funded study (bias 1.8%).45 And we found no peer-reviewed validation of WHOOP’s blood oxygen (SpO2) against a reference on PubMed, so treat the SpO2 that Apple Health, Health Connect and the API receive as unvalidated. For the cross-brand HRV evidence, see wearable HRV accuracy validation studies.

Should one night’s HRV change your training?

Not on its own. In 11 Olympic water polo players wearing WHOOP 3.0 for 16 weeks, WHOOP-derived HRV (lnRMSSD) varied by about 5.4% from day to day within a week, which the authors call no more than HRV’s natural variation. A one-night swing of that size is normal; judge the trend.49

That study came from a WHOOP-supported lab, and its authors state WHOOP “was not involved in the design, conduct or reporting.”49 Their 2021 ECG comparison adds the other half: WHOOP’s HRV error “approached or exceeded” the smallest change worth acting on.46

So whichever app receives your WHOOP HRV, Zwift, Cronometer or intervals.icu, read it as a rolling average rather than a verdict on one morning.

Where does SensAI fit?

SensAI is an iPhone coaching app that reads WHOOP only through Apple Health; there is no WHOOP account link. It reads the sleep, heart rate, resting heart rate, workouts and workout calories WHOOP writes there, but not HRV, Recovery or Strain. Zwift, intervals.icu, Cronometer and Strava all get WHOOP’s Recovery score; SensAI does not.12619155

Asked whether you link your WHOOP account inside SensAI, the Help Center answers: “No. Connect the device’s app to Apple Health, then let SensAI read Apple Health.”12 WHOOP’s HRV stays out because “WHOOP calculates HRV as rMSSD while Apple Health stores SDNN, and the two are not interchangeable.”12

What SensAI does with what it gets: “Sleep and overnight heart rate from your device shape how hard Coach asks you to push on a given day,” and your WHOOP workouts sit in the Activity tab next to your planned strength sessions, so Coach sees them as load.12 It syncs roughly the last 30 days of Apple Health workouts.12

The limit is plain. “Will Coach see my HRV? Only from Apple Watch.”12 With WHOOP alone, SensAI’s HRV tile reads “No recent value,” and your Recovery score never arrives.12

Data also flows the other way. SensAI writes the strength workouts you track to Apple Health, and WHOOP imports Apple Health workouts.128

To set it up, follow how to connect a wearable to SensAI through Apple Health.

Why isn’t WHOOP syncing with my other apps?

Usually the WHOOP app hasn’t synced or a permission is off. WHOOP’s own fixes: keep the app running in the background, turn off Low Power Mode or Battery Saver, re-enable Apple Health or Health Connect after a reinstall, and check read permissions. Strava needs the 4-day calibration done first, and Peloton never imports old classes.5089528

Frequently asked questions

What apps work with WHOOP?

WHOOP’s partners include Peloton, Zwift, Strava, TrainingPeaks, Cronometer, Withings, Natural Cycles, Clue Plus, HealthEx, Hyperice, pliability and FORM. Any app that reads Apple Health or Health Connect also gets part of your WHOOP data, and apps such as intervals.icu link to your WHOOP account directly.12319

Are there free apps that work with WHOOP?

Yes, but each needs an active WHOOP membership behind it. Apple Health, Health Connect and intervals.icu are free, Cronometer lists WHOOP sync among its free features, HealthEx is included for US members, and Clue Plus, pliability and Natural Cycles have free trial periods for WHOOP members.232617212716

Does WHOOP sync HRV to Apple Health?

No. “WHOOP does not export HRV data to Apple Health at this time,” because Apple Health stores SDNN and WHOOP calculates rMSSD. Recovery and Strain scores aren’t exported either. HRV is also missing from WHOOP’s Health Connect export list.89

Does WHOOP work with MyFitnessPal?

Not directly. On iPhone, WHOOP’s Apple Health “Auto-Log Nutrition” lets third-party apps “automatically sync nutrition data into the WHOOP Journal,” so a nutrition app that writes to Apple Health can feed it. Cronometer is the nutrition app with a direct WHOOP link.87

Does WHOOP work with Garmin?

Not directly. Garmin Connect is not in WHOOP’s integration lists. Garmin activities that sync to Strava reach WHOOP labelled “Garmin Via Strava,” and WHOOP keeps the richer record when two overlap. WHOOP can also broadcast live heart rate to a Garmin Fenix over Bluetooth.12311

Does WHOOP work with TrainingPeaks?

Yes, one way. WHOOP sends sleep, HRV and resting heart rate; WHOOP says Recovery Score too, but TrainingPeaks says it doesn’t import Recovery. No workouts, no history, and charts need TrainingPeaks Premium.202425

Can third-party apps access WHOOP data?

Yes, through the WHOOP API v2 with OAuth 2.0. Apps can read Recovery, HRV (rMSSD), sleep, Strain and workouts, a new app can connect up to 10 members on the Sandbox tier, and WHOOP MG medical-grade data is not available.183510

Does WHOOP work without a membership?

Not usefully. “Once your membership has ended, WHOOP will no longer collect, upload, or analyze your biometric data,” so connected apps receive nothing new. Memberships cost $199, $239 or $359 a year in the US.3839

Does WHOOP work with Zwift and Peloton?

Yes, both work in both directions, per WHOOP’s October 2026 articles. Zwift receives your Recovery score and sends rides and runs back; Peloton sends classes to WHOOP and receives WHOOP activities and heart rate, without needing Peloton equipment.29628

Does WHOOP work with Hydrow?

Only as a heart-rate monitor. Hydrow lists WHOOP Strap 3.0 and 4.0 as compatible over Bluetooth via the WHOOP app, and WHOOP Strap 5.0 as incompatible.40

The bottom line

Most apps that “work with WHOOP” only get part of it. Apple Health and Health Connect apps see sleep, resting heart rate and workouts, but WHOOP’s HRV, Recovery score and Strain score are not on either export list. Strava, Zwift, Cronometer and intervals.icu get your Recovery score. Everything stops when the membership does.8956151938

Pick the route by what you need. For your Recovery score inside training, use Zwift or intervals.icu. For food against recovery, Cronometer. For an iPhone coach that adjusts sessions from WHOOP’s sleep and overnight heart rate, SensAI reads Apple Health, minus the HRV and scores WHOOP keeps to itself.6191512
