Liftosaur is a weightlifting tracker for people who want to decide exactly how their weights go up. You write each lift’s progression rule in a short text language called Liftoscript, and the app applies it after every workout. Its App Store listing calls it “the only scriptable workout app,” and it holds 4.8 stars from 431 US ratings.1
The short answer on price: Liftosaur is free to download and use, and Liftosaur Premium costs $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $99.99 for life in the US App Store. Monthly and yearly come with a 14-day free trial.12
Every price, limit and feature below was checked on 31 October 2026 against Liftosaur’s App Store and Google Play listings, its own feature pages and changelog, statements from its developer, and PubMed. SensAI makes a competing app, so we show where SensAI loses as well.
Liftosaur review: is it worth it in 2026?
Yes, if you like rules and don’t mind a learning curve. The free version includes 61 built-in programs, the Liftoscript editor, logging, history, import and export. Premium ($39.99 a year) adds graphs, plates per side, Week Insights, the Apple Watch app and AI access through its API and MCP server.231

Liftosaur’s strengths are control, price and openness: progressions run exactly as written, a lifetime plan costs $99.99, and the code is public on GitHub.110 Its weak spots are the learning curve its own developer names as the top complaint, a small user base, no Garmin or Wear OS app, and a direct importer for only one other app, Hevy.111213
How much does Liftosaur cost? Liftosaur pricing in 2026
Liftosaur is free. Liftosaur Premium costs $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $99.99 lifetime in the US App Store, and monthly and yearly start with a 14-day free trial. Google Play lists $4.99–$99.99 per item. You can only buy Premium inside the iOS or Android app.1142
| Where you buy | Monthly | Yearly | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
| US App Store | $4.99, 14-day trial | $39.99, 14-day trial | $99.99, one-time |
| Google Play (US) | $4.99–$99.99 per item, not labeled by plan | Same range | Same range |
| Web app | Not sold on the web | Not sold on the web | Not sold on the web |
App Store and Google Play prices from their US listings; trial and web rules from Liftosaur’s Premium page, 31 October 2026.1142
Liftosaur has no pricing page on its website. Its Premium page says “You buy Premium in the iOS app or the Android app. The web app cannot sell it,” and “The store sets the price, adjusted per country, and shows it in your currency.”2 Premium is tied to your account, so one purchase unlocks it on iOS, Android and the web.2
Prices outside the US are lower in many countries. In a 2024 post, the developer explained that he scales prices by GDP per capita and treats the US as the ceiling: “the monthly subscription price doesn’t go higher than $4.99.”15
Is Liftosaur cheaper yearly or monthly?
Yearly. Twelve months at $4.99 cost $59.88, so the $39.99 yearly plan saves 33%, which matches the “Save 33%” badge on the in-app yearly card. Switching to yearly starts at your next renewal; switching to monthly credits the unused part of a yearly plan.12
On the yearly plan Liftosaur works out to $3.33 a month. That is more than Hevy Pro ($23.99 a year) and Strong PRO ($29.99), and less than Boostcamp Pro ($59.99) or SensAI ($69.99).4587
Is there a Liftosaur lifetime subscription?
Yes. Lifetime is “a One-time payment. It never renews,” and costs $99.99 in the US App Store. It has no trial, and you can’t buy it while a subscription is active: “Cancel your subscription first.” At the yearly price, it pays for itself in the third year.21
| Plan (US App Store) | 1 year | 2 years | 3 years | 4 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly, $4.99 | $59.88 | $119.76 | $179.64 | $239.52 |
| Yearly, $39.99 | $39.99 | $79.98 | $119.97 | $159.96 |
| Lifetime, $99.99 | $99.99 | $99.99 | $99.99 | $99.99 |
Lifetime makes sense if you expect to still be scripting your lifts in 2029. Compare Hevy’s lifetime plan at $74.99 and Strong PRO Forever, listed at $99.99 and $79.99.45 One five-star App Store review from October 2026 praises “a one time payment for a lifetime subscription which I love not needing another subscription.”1
Are there Liftosaur coupons or Black Friday deals?
Not usually. The only public discount we found was a Thanksgiving 2025 promotion, 30% off monthly and yearly for new subscribers with code THANKS25, which expired on 3 December 2025. The developer says there are “No coupons for lifetime.” No 2026 holiday offer had been announced by 31 October.16
The developer called that 2025 sale a first: “Doing that for the first time ever!” He also confirmed that anyone who had already started a free trial did not qualify.16 If an offer runs, Liftosaur’s paywall shows the old price crossed out with the note “Discount applies for the first year,” and you can enter a code through “Redeem coupon” on the same screen.2
Is Liftosaur free, or does it cost money? What the free version includes
Yes, Liftosaur is free. Its Premium page says: “Everything else is free: programs and the editor, Liftoscript, logging workouts, history, measurements entry, equipment, sharing, import and export.” That includes all 61 built-in programs and Apple Health sync. No routine or history limit is stated.2317
That makes Liftosaur’s free plan one of the most generous among lifting trackers. Hevy’s free plan caps you at four saved routines and three months of history, and Strong’s at three custom routines.95 Liftosaur also rounds every target weight to the plates and bars you own on the free plan; only the plates-per-side display is Premium.122
You don’t even need an account. “You can use the app without an account and without a connection,” says Liftosaur, and without one “your programs, workouts and measurements stay on your device.”1819
Liftosaur free vs Premium: what does Premium unlock?
Premium unlocks seven things: the plates-per-side calculator, graphs, muscle views, rest-timer notifications, Week Insights, the Apple Watch app, and the API and MCP server for AI assistants. Everything else, including all 61 programs, Liftoscript, logging, history and import/export, stays free. One purchase covers iOS, Android and the web.2

Week Insights shows “this week’s total sets, volume, PRs, strength and hypertrophy split, and sets per muscle group against your target range.”12 On 25 October 2026 Liftosaur split shoulders into front, side and rear delts, and back into lats, upper back and lower back, for finer per-muscle counts.20
Is Liftosaur Premium worth paying for?
Pay if you want the graphs, a phone-free Apple Watch app or AI access. Skip it if you mainly want to run a program: the progression engine, every built-in program and full history are free. At $39.99 a year, Premium costs less than Boostcamp Pro ($59.99) or SensAI ($69.99).22187
One Reddit user put it bluntly: Liftosaur “has all the basic shit that I want… for free. Paid stuff isn’t necessary at all.”22 Others pay to support the developer; one wrote, “Lifetime purchaser and worth it!! Liftosaur rocks!”23
How long is the Liftosaur free trial, and how do you cancel?
14 days, on the monthly and yearly plans. Liftosaur says “cancelling on day one of the trial still gives you the full 14 days.” Cancel in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; Premium stays on until the end of the period you paid for. Lifetime has no trial.2
On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Liftosaur and tap Cancel Subscription.24 Liftosaur’s site states no refund policy, and its Terms of Use, last updated in 2020, do not mention subscriptions.25 Payments go through Apple or Google (“Payment details go to Apple or Google, never to us”). On iPhone, request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, Google says the developer can process refunds, so start with info@liftosaur.com.192627
What is Liftoscript, and do you need to learn it?
Liftoscript is Liftosaur’s text language for programs. A line like “Squat / 2x5, 1x5+ / 45lb / progress: lp(5lb)” means two sets of five, one AMRAP set, starting at 45 lb, adding 5 lb after each success. You can run built-in programs without writing any, but the developer says basics are “required to use Liftosaur effectively.”12820
The built-in progressions are linear (lp), double (dp, add reps within a range, then weight) and rep-sum. Beyond those, custom scripts can use variables, conditions and loops to change weight, reps or sets from what you logged.2822 Weights can be set as a percentage of 1RM or by RPE, and the app calculates the load.22
The developer stopped hiding that complexity in 2026. In an August changelog entry titled “Embrace Liftoscript, part 1,” he wrote: “I just need to be honest and upfront that knowing at least some Liftoscript basics is required to use Liftosaur effectively.” Since then, editing an exercise means editing its Liftoscript in a code editor, though you can tap values instead of typing.201
You don’t have to type on your phone. “Typing your program on a phone can indeed be tedious,” Liftosaur admits, so there is a web editor on desktop, and the app now updates live when you change a program there.221
What programs does Liftosaur include?
61 free built-in programs, including GZCLP and other GZCL programs, several 5/3/1 variations, nSuns, Starting Strength, the r/Fitness Basic Beginner Routine, Texas Method, Madcow, PHUL, PHAT, Smolov Jr and Strong Curves. Each is written in Liftoscript, so you can change any rule.3122
| Goal | Built-in Liftosaur programs (examples) |
|---|---|
| First year of lifting | Basic Beginner Routine, GZCLP, Starting Strength, 5/3/1 for Beginners |
| Intermediate strength | Texas Method, Madcow, nSuns, 5/3/1 Boring But Big |
| Powerlifting peaking | Smolov Jr, Sheiko, Calgary Barbell 16-week |
| Hypertrophy and powerbuilding | PHUL, PHAT, GZCL Jacked and Tan 2.0, German Volume Training |
| Glutes and lower body | Strong Curves |
Program names from Liftosaur’s programs page, 31 October 2026.3
This is where Liftosaur overlaps with Boostcamp, which offers 14,000+ free programs, though its Auto Progression, which updates your working weights, is a Pro feature.8 The difference is that Liftosaur exposes every rule. If you want to change how GZCLP handles a failed set, you edit one line instead of hoping the developer added a setting.28
Does Liftosaur have AI? The MCP server and API
Yes, through outside assistants rather than an in-app coach. Liftosaur has an MCP server and REST API that let Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini create programs, change progressions and log workouts. It is listed in Claude’s connectors and ChatGPT’s plugin directory. Account access needs Premium.293020
| What you want the AI to do | Free | Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Read the Liftoscript reference and write a program you paste in | ✓ | ✓ |
| Read your workout history and stats | — | ✓ |
| Create or edit programs in your account | — | ✓ |
| Log workouts and measurements | — | ✓ |
Liftosaur’s AI and MCP documentation, 31 October 2026.2930
Liftosaur’s own wording is exact: “Everything that touches your account needs Premium. The reference tools work without an account.”30 So a free user can ask an assistant to write Liftoscript and paste it into the web editor, while a Premium user can let the assistant change the program directly. To connect, use the server URL liftosaur.com/mcp and sign in with OAuth or an API key. Liftosaur added the MCP server and REST API on 8 March 2026.2920
That makes Liftosaur unusually AI-friendly for a tracker, but it is not a coach. The assistant edits the program you ask it to change; the app reads sleep from Apple Health for its graphs but doesn’t use sleep or recovery to change the day’s workout.1730
Does Liftosaur work with Apple Watch, Apple Health, Garmin and Strava?
Apple Watch, yes, with Premium, and the watch works without your phone. Apple Health and Android’s Health Connect, yes, free: Liftosaur writes finished workouts and reads bodyweight, sleep and nutrition. Garmin, Strava and Wear OS have no official integration; Garmin users rely on third-party tools using the Premium API.21171211
| Integration | Status | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Watch | Premium | Runs your workout on the watch, even with the phone in a locker; you can’t swap exercises or change targets on the watch21 |
| Apple Health (iOS) | Free | Writes workouts with start, end and active calories; reads and writes bodyweight and body fat; reads sleep, dietary calories and protein17 |
| Health Connect (Android 14+) | Free | Same data as Apple Health, except waist17 |
| Wear OS | No official app | Not offered by Liftosaur12 |
| Garmin Connect | No official integration | Users rely on third-party tools that pull from the Premium API1211 |
| Strava | No official integration | Not listed by Liftosaur12 |
| Import | Free | Hevy CSV, Liftosaur CSV and JSON backups; no Strong importer13 |
Liftosaur’s feature pages, 31 October 2026.12172113
Two caveats. Liftosaur does not read workouts back from Apple Health (“Workouts — written only”), and it estimates calories at a flat “6 kcal per minute of workout time.”1917 Version 124, released 13 October 2026, fixed workouts “sometimes duplicating” when syncing to Apple Health.1
Coming from Strong? There is no built-in importer. The developer’s advice is that it works “only manually”: convert your export to Liftosaur’s CSV format first.16
What does the research say about scripted progression?
Progression matters more than the exact scheme. Periodized training gave a small strength edge over non-periodized training in two meta-analyses. Linear and undulating models were similar in beginners, with a small edge for undulating in trained lifters, and adding reps worked as well as adding weight. A program that enforces increases may help.3132333435
Does the progression model matter?
Less than lifters argue about. In a meta-analysis of volume-equated programs, periodized training improved 1RM more than non-periodized training (effect size 0.31), but not muscle size. In untrained people, linear and undulating periodization produced similar strength gains (effect size 0.06); in trained people, undulating did better (effect size 0.61).31
Earlier work agrees on periodization. Williams and colleagues found periodized programs beat non-periodized ones for 1RM (effect size 0.43), with bigger gains in untrained people and an edge for undulating programs.32 Across 17 studies and 510 people, Harries and colleagues found “no differences in the effectiveness of linear vs. undulating periodization” on strength.33 For hypertrophy, Grgic’s meta-analysis put the difference between the two models at d = −0.02.36
The 2026 American College of Sports Medicine position stand, an overview of 137 systematic reviews co-authored by Brad Schoenfeld of CUNY Lehman College, found that strength rose with loads of at least 80% of 1RM and two or more sessions a week, and that periodization “did not consistently impact training outcomes.”3738
So GZCLP, 5/3/1 and a homemade script all work if they keep adding load. There is no trial of a named beginner template such as GZCLP, so treat app claims about the “best” beginner program with caution.
Should you add weight or reps?
Either. In an 8-week trial of 43 trained lifters, adding reps worked as well as adding load: “Both progressions of repetitions and load appear to be viable strategies for enhancing muscular adaptations.” That is close to the rep-adding half of Liftosaur’s double progression versus linear progression, and the study found little practical difference.3428
Strength slightly favoured the load group, by 2.0 kg, “with differences of questionable practical significance.”34 If you are past the stage where you can add 5 lb every session, a double-progression rule such as dp() is a reasonable next step. Our guide to AI-automated progressive overload covers how apps decide your next weight.
Should you use RPE and AMRAP sets?
Yes, with honest ratings. Autoregulated loading, adjusted by effort or bar speed, gave strength gains similar to fixed percentages across six trials in trained lifters, and lifters underpredicted reps to failure by about one rep on average. Of the rep counts tested, a five-rep set gave the most accurate 1RM estimate.394041
Liftosaur’s RPE sets use the reps-in-reserve scale introduced by Mike Zourdos of Florida Atlantic University, where “RPE-10 = 0-RIR, RPE-9 = 1-RIR, and so forth.”42
In a 2018 trial led by Eric Helms of the Sport Performance Research Institute New Zealand at Auckland University of Technology, “Both loading-types are effective. However, RPE-based loading may provide a small 1RM strength advantage in a majority of individuals.”43 Halperin’s review found people “underpredict the number of repetitions to task failure by 0.95 repetitions.”40
AMRAP sets (“1x5+” in Liftoscript) feed many progressions. Reynolds and colleagues found that a five-rep max predicted 1RM best and that “no more than 10 repetitions should be used” in such estimates.41 You don’t need to go to failure to grow: a 2023 meta-analysis found “no evidence” that training to failure is superior for hypertrophy.44 See our RPE and RIR guide.
Do you need deload weeks?
Not on a fixed schedule. A Delphi panel of coaches defined a deload as “a period of reduced training stress designed to mitigate physiological and psychological fatigue.” In a 9-week trial, a full week off mid-program cost some lower-body strength without changing lower-body muscle growth.4546
Note the difference: that trial stopped training completely for a week, while most scripted deloads cut load or volume.46 Bell and colleagues call deloading “ubiquitous yet under-researched.”45 Liftoscript’s conditions let you write a deload rule, such as dropping the weight after repeated failures, rather than taking one by the calendar.28 Our deload week guide covers when to use one.
Does a program that tells you the next weight help?
Probably. In a 12-week trial of 18 moderately trained men, those who followed the same written program under a personal trainer’s supervision increased their training loads faster and gained more strength than men training alone. Monitoring progress also helps: across 138 studies, it improved goal attainment, especially when progress was recorded.3547
The supervision study is small and from 2000, so treat it as a hint rather than proof.35 In Harkin’s meta-analysis, monitoring had larger effects “when the information was physically recorded.”47 A Liftosaur script does a narrow version of the supervisor’s job: it decides when the weight goes up and doesn’t let you skip the decision.
What do Liftosaur users complain about?
Complexity, above all. The developer wrote that “the main complains I get are ‘the app is too complicated’, and ‘there’s too steep learning curve’.” Users also report crashes and lag after the 2026 native rewrite, confusing rounded weights, Apple Watch sync glitches and a Health Connect sync error.114849
- The learning curve. A former Hevy user praised Liftosaur but added: “It’s not for everyone. If you just want to log sets and go home and see your buddies workouts, Hevy does that better honestly.”23 Another worried his program would become “the same neverendung project when i always tweak and polish something.”23
- Crashes and lag. After the June 2026 rewrite, one user asked “I’m the only one that feels like it’s lagging a lot?”48 In October another reported that after a force close “it then always crashes three times on reopen.”49
- Confusing weights. “Why are there two suggested weights… Quite confusing to me.”49 In July the developer had already added an explanation when you tap a crossed-out weight, calling it “a common source of confusion.”49
- Sync. “The Apple Watch app and the iPhone app is not live syncing,” wrote one user in September; on Android, another got a “Couldn’t sync workout” error writing to Health Connect.49
These are individual posts, not a survey. Ratings remain 4.8 on both the App Store and Google Play, and the developer usually answers bug reports in the same thread.114
Is Liftosaur safe? What data does it collect?
Liftosaur says “We do not share, sell, or disclose your health data to third parties,” and you can use it without an account. Its App Store label lists data linked to you for analytics and app functionality, with no tracking. Its Google Play label says device IDs may be shared for advertising.19114
The privacy policy names the advertising tools: “limited, anonymized data” goes to providers such as Google Analytics 4, Reddit Pixel and AppsFlyer “to measure usage and ad performance,” and “We do not sell personal information.”19 Data is stored on Amazon Web Services in Oregon, “encrypted in transit and at rest,” and deleted accounts leave backup copies for up to 35 days.19 Apple notes that privacy labels are not verified.1
Who makes Liftosaur?
Liftosaur, LLC, a Texas company run by software engineer Anton Astashov, who wrote nearly all of its code. The project started on GitHub in 2020, the iPhone app launched in January 2023, and it is open source under the AGPL-3.0 license. Monthly active users doubled in 2025, to about 6,000.1141011
Astashov built it because other apps “were either designed for one specific routine (GZCLP, 5/3/1, etc.) or had a pack of popular routines, but none gave full flexibility in program editing.”22 The app is updated often: the App Store shows eight releases between 1 September and 13 October 2026.1 The small size cuts both ways: fast fixes, but one main developer.
Liftosaur vs Hevy, Boostcamp and Strong: which is better?
Liftosaur beats all three on progression control and on its free plan. Hevy is cheaper ($23.99 a year), smoother and far more popular. Boostcamp gives you 14,000+ ready-made programs with no scripting. Strong is the simplest log, with a strong Apple Watch app. Liftosaur is the only one you can script.1485
| If you want… | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Exact control over how each lift progresses | Liftosaur | Liftoscript rules run after every workout28 |
| The cheapest paid upgrade | Hevy | Pro at $23.99 a year or $74.99 lifetime4 |
| A proven program without editing anything | Boostcamp | 14,000+ free programs; Pro $59.99 a year8 |
| The simplest log and a full Apple Watch app | Strong | Watch logging with or without the iPhone5 |
| Friends to follow and a social feed | Hevy | “train with 15M+ lifters”4 |
| An AI assistant that can edit your program | Liftosaur Premium | MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini29 |
Liftosaur vs Hevy: which is better?
Hevy is better for most people who just want to log: Pro costs $23.99 a year or $74.99 lifetime, it has a social feed and about 230 times as many App Store ratings. Liftosaur is better if you want progression applied automatically and a free plan with no stated routine or history limit.4912
One Hevy switcher wrote that in Hevy “progression is completely manual”; Hevy’s newer Hevy Trainer, part of Hevy Pro, instead “builds a program around you.”234 You can move your Hevy history over with a CSV export.13 See our Hevy review.
Liftosaur vs Boostcamp: which is better?
Both run programs like GZCLP and 5/3/1. Boostcamp hands you 14,000+ free programs with no scripting; Liftosaur hands you 61 programs as editable code. Liftosaur Premium is cheaper ($39.99 a year vs $59.99) and has an Apple Watch app and a $99.99 lifetime plan; Boostcamp lists neither.8631
For the three-way breakdown, read Boostcamp vs Hevy vs Liftosaur.
Liftosaur vs Strong: which is simpler?
Strong caps free routines at three and costs $29.99 a year for PRO, and its Apple Watch app logs with or without the iPhone.5 See our Strong app review and, for another free tracker, our Lyfta review.
Where does SensAI fit?
SensAI is a conversational AI coach for iPhone and Apple Watch. You tell Coach what you need, it writes and adjusts your plan, and it reads Apple Health, so sleep and overnight heart rate shape how hard it asks you to push. It costs $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year after a 7-day free trial.750
The difference from Liftosaur is who writes the rule. In Liftosaur you script it; in SensAI you describe what you need. SensAI’s listing says “Smart Modify can shorten your workout, change its intensity, or shift its focus. Just type what you need.”7 Per SensAI’s Help Center, “Sleep and overnight heart rate from your device shape how hard Coach asks you to push on a given day.”50
There are limits on that data. SensAI reads Apple Health only, so your device’s own app has to write there first. Apple Watch is the only device that shares HRV that way, and vendor scores such as Garmin’s Body Battery, WHOOP’s Recovery and Oura’s Readiness never cross.50 To see what your device shares, read how to connect a wearable to SensAI through Apple Health.
Where Liftosaur beats SensAI:
- Price. Liftosaur’s free plan never expires, and Premium is $39.99 a year or $99.99 for life; SensAI is $69.99 a year after its trial.217
- Platforms. Liftosaur runs on Android, the web and iOS 17; SensAI is iPhone and Apple Watch only and needs iOS 26.1817
- Control and openness. Every progression rule is visible and editable, and the code is open source.2810
- Track record. 431 US ratings against SensAI’s 38.17
Where SensAI is different: a coach that writes the next session, a plan you can change by typing, and recovery data that shapes how hard Coach asks you to push that day.750 No trial has tested SensAI’s coaching either, so judge both on how they fit your week.
Who should use Liftosaur, and when is an alternative better?
Use Liftosaur if you run a structured program such as GZCLP or 5/3/1 and want the app to apply its progression rules exactly, for free. Pick something else if you want the simplest log (Strong), the cheapest upgrade (Hevy), no-code programs (Boostcamp) or a coach that adapts to recovery (SensAI).25487
| If you… | Choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Run GZCLP, 5/3/1 or nSuns and want it automated | Liftosaur | Built-in, free, editable3 |
| Want to write your own progression logic | Liftosaur | Liftoscript28 |
| Use Android or a browser | Liftosaur | iOS, Android and web app with one account18 |
| Want a lifetime plan under $100 | Liftosaur or Hevy | $99.99 and $74.9914 |
| Hate setup and just want to log | Strong or Hevy | Simpler logging54 |
| Want sleep and heart rate to shape training | SensAI | Reads Apple Health; HRV from Apple Watch only50 |
| Use a Garmin or Wear OS watch | Not Liftosaur | No official integration12 |
Frequently asked questions
Is Liftosaur free?
Yes. Programs, the Liftoscript editor, logging, history, measurements, health sync, import and export are free. Premium adds graphs, plates per side, muscle views, Week Insights, rest-timer notifications, the Apple Watch app and API/MCP access.2
How much does Liftosaur Premium cost?
In the US App Store, $4.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $99.99 lifetime. Google Play lists $4.99–$99.99 per item. Prices are set per country by the stores.1142
How long is the Liftosaur free trial?
14 days on the monthly and yearly plans. Lifetime has no trial. Cancelling on day one still leaves you the full 14 days.2
Does Liftosaur have a lifetime subscription?
Yes, $99.99 in the US App Store, paid once. Cancel any active subscription before you buy it. It pays for itself in the third year compared with the yearly plan.12
Is there a Liftosaur coupon code?
None is active that we could find. The THANKS25 code for 30% off expired on 3 December 2025, and the developer says there are no lifetime coupons.16
What is the Liftosaur MCP?
An MCP server at liftosaur.com/mcp that lets Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other assistants read and change your programs and workouts. Account access needs Premium; the reference tools are free.2930
Is Liftosaur better than Hevy?
For automated progression and a generous free plan, yes. For simple logging, a social feed and the cheapest Pro plan ($23.99 a year), Hevy is better.29423
Does Liftosaur work with Garmin?
Not officially. Liftosaur has no Garmin integration; some users run third-party tools that pull workouts from the Premium API.1211
Is Liftosaur open source?
Yes. The code is on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 license, maintained mainly by developer Anton Astashov.10
The bottom line
Liftosaur is the best tracker in 2026 for lifters who want their program’s rules applied exactly: 61 free programs, a free progression engine and a $99.99 lifetime option. Premium is worth $39.99 a year for graphs, the Apple Watch app or AI access. Its costs are a real learning curve and a small, one-developer operation.32111
If you already run GZCLP or 5/3/1 from a spreadsheet, try Liftosaur’s free plan and its web editor. If you want to log sets and move on, Hevy or Strong will feel easier. If you want someone else to decide what you lift next, around how you slept, Liftosaur isn’t trying to be that app.
